Green Fingered Fledglings

By Blog No Comments

One of the favourite pastimes in the garden, across all the ages, is watering our plants. We created a ‘Wall of wellies’ last year and planted them up with beautiful flowers. The time came where these needed replanting this week. Our fledglings took this task on with a lot of enthusiasm! What could be better than playing with mud & water while the sun was shining! They carefully removed some of the old compost and gently placed the new plants in the wellies. They then settled the plants in securely by adding handfuls of new compost and pressing this down. Then for the fun bit, watering!! They were then carefully rehung on the wall and we are excitedly waiting to see what colour flowers appear!

Space

By Blog No Comments

The children have chosen to discover Earth and Space this week. We have experienced walking and jumping on the moon and explored the effects of gravity. Some of our activities have included role-playing in our space centre. The children have loved pressing all the buttons on the control panel. They have also been busy mark making on our pre-flight checklist. Some amazing aliens have been created with sparkly green play dough and googly eyes. They were named Victoria and Super-toria! Our little astronauts had the opportunity to explore moon rocks in an anti-contamination unit as we discussed the international space station scientific research.
