Funding Information

We accept government paid hours for 2, 3 & 4 year old children but with plenty of changes happening to government free-childcare schemes, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or become confused. Please have a look at the following information and we hope the links to summary information are useful
Childcare Choices | 30 Hours Childcare, Tax-Free Childcare and More | Help with Costs | GOV.uk

From April 2024, some 2-year-olds will be entitled to 15 hours free childcare when both parents work or if parents receive some benefits: Childcare support for 2 year olds | Hertfordshire County Council

Starting from the term after your child turns 3, your child will be entitled to 15 hours free childcare: 15 hours childcare support | Hertfordshire County Council

Some 3-year-olds are entitled to 30 hours free childcare when both parents work: 30 hours childcare support | Hertfordshire County Council

Some 3–4-year-olds are entitled to extra funding to help the Preschool to support your child’s education:  https://www.gov.uk/get-extra-early-years-funding

Some parents may benefit from the Tax-Free Childcare system. Check here to see: https://www.gov.uk/get-tax-free-childcare

You are allowed to claim your entitlements across 3 separate childcare settings, including Ofsted registered childminders.  We will support you to complete the relevant forms.

Childcare Vouchers

We also accept many Childcare Voucher schemes provided by certain places of work – but please note new applications to the scheme closed October 2018. You can still use them if you signed up before then and are with the same employer.

These schemes can save you money by taking the cost out of your salary before your PAYE is deducted (and so reducing the amount of tax you need to pay).  For more information please see http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/calcs/ccin.htm or talk to your HR Representative at work who may be able to inform you of the voucher scheme that they use. There are several different organisations that businesses can obtain childcare vouchers from, we are happy to register with any of them where necessary to ensure you can spend your vouchers at our setting.
