Owls Club

By May 3, 2017Blog
One of the exciting things about the Summer Term is our Owls Club.  A weekly afternoon club just for our Summer Leavers.  Owls Club helps the children to adjust to the longer days of primary school whilst focusing on our next steps and development in the specific areas of learning.
Our first Owls Club was exciting and good fun with the children engaging at all 3 stations on offer, working on Literacy, Mathematics and fine motor skills in turn.  The children particularly enjoyed sharing their ideas and work with Miss Haxton, visiting us from Therfield First school.
After so much ‘thinking’ it was time for ‘movement’ and developing our gross motor skills, and what better way than washing tables and chairs, and sweeping the floors.  ERIC time (Everybody Reads In Class) was a favourite part of the session with the children exploring books and stories freely.  We are looking forward to our next Owls Club, and to providing some fun Owls challenges to complete at home.
